Discover an option for memory care that's remarkably different, yet comfortably familiar.

Our first CountryHouse in Lincoln opened in 2009 on the corner of South 25th and Old Cheney. It's a wonderful location, close to the eminent Knolls Country Club neighborhood and also near shopping, banks and medical services.

In 2011 a second CountryHouse opened in Lincoln, just across from the Pine Lake Golf Course on South 84th Street. Southeast Lincoln is growing fast. With upscale housing developments and many new churches, it's become a popular area for families to call home.

The Pine Lake CountryHouse features our LifeCycles Adult Day Center, a separate and specially designed area for day care services. Open daily, guests may come occasionally or on a regular schedule. It's a perfect solution for someone who is caring for a loved one in the home yet needs to be away for work or travel.

Day services guests enjoy the same benefits afforded to full-time residents: socialization, meals, health and personal care services, and and engaging activities. Our drivers will even pick participants up in the morning and take them home again at the end of the day. Due to limited availability, advance notice is required.

CountryHouse is beautiful... and well designed.

Residential in style, both homes feature a gorgeous dining room, fireplaces, cozy family rooms, and a private dining room. The small Pantry Kitchen enables residents to engage in familiar food activities, and the enclosed courtyard features our signature patio, water feature, and landscaping for all to enjoy.

All bedroom suites are large enough to accommodate favorite furniture from home and there are both Private and Companion choices. Garden Private suites offer extra space plus a creekside view or corner windows.

More importantly, CountryHouse was created specifically to meet the needs of those with progressive memory loss. The house is divided into two living areas so that residents feel part of a smaller group.  Security features are discrete, yet ensure safety. Halls and sidewalks allow residents to walk freely in circular pathways.

But the real beauty is on the inside.

Where CountryHouse really shines is in its people. Our team understands the difference between caring about and giving care, and they're committed to infusing our unique philosophy into everything they do. They provide:

  • Gentle direction, through daily activities & structured programming
  • "Moments of Joy", by helping residents find simple pleasures and recall pleasant times in their life
  • A loving atmosphere, in the respectful & soothing manner in which all residents are treated

All staff participate in activities, including many special events throughout the year. There are cookouts, celebrations and trips. And in any given week it's not unusual for a group of staff and residents to go out for lunch or ice cream cones.

School groups are also integrated into the activity program. From pre-schoolers to college students, everyone benefits from the experience.

In 2011 we added Memories in the Making, a fine arts program that uses art as a communication tool for individuals with dementia or related disorders. Sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association, staff members were chosen to complete the Facilitator Training course in order to implement this benficial program.

And service extends to families.

In many ways, Alzheimer's is harder on the family than it is on the one afflicted. It's heartbreaking to watch the disease progress; it's difficult for roles to change, and to become a stranger to someone you love.

We understand that families often want to care for their loved one themselves, and may feel guilty if career, children or environment makes home care an untenable or unsafe solution.

That's why CountryHouse serves the family as well as the resident. We offer educational resources, programs, monthly coffees and special seasonal events.

And by letting CountryHouse take care of the day-to-day details, families are free to focus on spending more quality time -- just talking, walking or laughing together.

Instead of replacing the family's role as caregiver, we become their partner in care.
